This course offers an effective overview of core concepts in the '2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC)' Circulation. 2005;112 [Suppl I].  Since many of these concepts are difficult to retain from the "bolus" one-day ACLS course of the American Heart Assocation. Spaced Education is an ideal method to learn and retain these concepts.

The course focuses on key concepts in the management of:
   (1) Cardiac Arrest
   (2) Symptomatic Bradycardia and Tachycardia
   (3) Acute Coronary Syndromes
   (4) Adult Stroke

This course is intended for those individuals who will be taking the formal ACLS course given by the American Heart Assocation and for those individuals who would like to review and/or reinforce core concepts learned in the AHA ACLS course.  The course assumes a knowledge of basic life support techniques, a basic ability to interpret rhythm strips, and a basic knowledge of cardiac physiology.

DISCLAIMER:  This course is NOT intended to replace formal training in ACLS in the AHA course.  ACLS should always be performed according to the AHA guidelines.  If you have questions about the course content or believe that the course content is differs from the AHA ACLS guidelines, please contact your local ACLS instructor for clarification.  The comments in the 'answer blogs" do not necessarily represent those of the course author.

Great course! Especially handy for incoming residents, like myself, who are nearing orientation with a full day of ACLS training on the schedule.
