This course is lacking in conceptual understanding and clarity. I just encountered my first word problem and found an example of how real world experience could easily cause confusion. Two people ordered pizzas. Were they the same size pizzas? The problem doesn’t say, so it’s tough to know if the leftovers make a whole pizza, and identifying the whole is a big part of understanding fractions.

I teach early middle school students. I am intrigued by this way of learning and reviewing information. I like the detailed explanation of each answer, the problems spaced out over a long period to ensure solid comprehension, and the email component — a draw for middle school students.
